My family did a fair amount of takeout last year before we got back to in person dining. One habit I picked up over that time that has stuck is tipping on my takeout orders.
Never really did before. Never thought it was necessary. But a combination of my daughter working along with realizing that money really helps those restaurant folks shifted my mindset. With how short staffed places are right now, I am even more inclined to keep doing it. My tip in combination with other tips means workers get more money in their pocket and that helps the places where I like to eat stay open.
So throw something in that tip jar or add it on when you check out. It’ll be appreciated and it may help your favorite joint stay around longer.
