Beach Etiquette for Beach Goers

From Mens’ Short Swim Trunks to Keeping the Music Down

Ah, the beach. One of the most peaceful places to relax with the family...until you hear music blaring behind you or sand flying in your face from a shaking towel. From mens short swim trunks to feeding the seagulls, we’re giving you a taste of our top beach do’s and don’ts, so you can do your part to keep the beach a classy, calm place to be this summer.

1. Do Leave the Mens Short Swim Trunks at Home

Now we know there’s brands out there selling mens short swim trunks in crazy patterns (they’re not chafe-free)—and while those are great in your college days, it’s time to leave those behind on family beaches. We recommend mens swimsuits that cover thighs, like our chafe-free swim trunks for men. Plus, you’ll be way more comfortable with a couple extra inches of fabric.

2. Don't Feed the Seagulls

Leave that bag of cheerios for the kids and keep it away from the seagulls. While feeding the seagulls may seem harmless, in a matter of seconds, you’ll have a whole swarm all over the beach—and they’ll be there to beg you for the rest of the day.

3. Do Pick Up After Your Day in the Sun

Be respectful of future beach-goers and wildlife by picking up trash before you leave the beach for the day. An easy tip to do this is always remember to bring a trash bag to the beach, you’ll make tidying up a lot easier at the end of the day!

4. Don't Turn Your Tunes Too High

Music at the beach is great and really helps set the mood for a fun day. Just remember to be mindful of those around you and keep the volume to a minimum. If there’s no one around, then feel free to turn it up as high as you like!

5. Do Spray Sunscreen Away from Others

It’s generally always windy at the beach, which isn’t helpful if you’re spraying down little ones with sunscreen. To avoid the stress, choose to put on sunscreen before going to the beach, or spray them down away from people, closer to the dunes.

6. Don't Shake Off Towels Close to Others

If you’ve ever been sprayed in the face with sand, then you know what we’re talking about. Carefully fold up towels and shake them off far away from others to prevent the wind from carrying the sand all over other beachgoers.

7. Do Keep Your Space

Everyone loves to have their own room to run around and set up supplies at the beach. When choosing a location to spend the day, remember to keep a polite distance away from others, so you all can relax.

With these do’s and don’ts, you’ll be an expert at beach etiquette—no matter where you are. From mens short swim trunks to feeding seagulls, you can help keep the beach safe, comfortable, and fun for everyone to enjoy this summer!
